Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This page explains what FPVBase stores in your browser, and why. "Cookies and local storage" both mean the same thing here: small pieces of data your browser keeps and sends back to us — the distinction between the two technologies doesn't change what you need to know about them.
What we use
| Purpose | What it does | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Login session | Keeps you signed in between visits | Strictly necessary |
Anonymous download counter (fpv_anon_id) | A random identifier so a download isn't counted twice by the same visitor, even without an account — not linked to your identity | Strictly necessary |
| Anti-bot verification (Cloudflare Turnstile) | Confirms you're not a bot when logging in or signing up | Strictly necessary |
| Cloudflare security/infrastructure | Set by our hosting provider as part of serving the site securely (e.g., protection against automated abuse) | Strictly necessary |
What we don't use
No advertising cookies, no analytics/tracking cookies, no third-party marketing pixels. If this ever changes, this page — and this page alone — will be updated first, along with a proper consent mechanism before any such cookie is set.
Do we ask for your consent?
No. Under EU law, cookies that are strictly necessary for the service you've asked for (staying logged in, basic security, accurate download counts) don't require consent — only optional ones (advertising, analytics) do, and we don't use any of those today.
Managing this storage
You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will log you out and reset your anonymous download identifier — it won't affect your account or published content.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if what we store changes — most notably if advertising is ever introduced, which would also come with a consent banner.
